Shaders
and Effects : Head Demo
Concept: Create Dynamic, Adaptive Programmable
Shaders and Post-Processing Effects
This demonstration shows just a few of the stunning visual
effects that can be created with the Virtools Dev 3.0 scripting
interface and the recently introduced support of programmable vertex
shaders and pixel shaders. The demo illustrates examples of basic
visual effects as well as high-level shaders and post-processing
effects.
The Shader Head Demo lets you switch between several different
shaders and effects. Tweak the settings and instantly see the results.
All effects used in the demo are triggered separately for the sake
of visual simplicity, but most can be combined and integrated for
maximal visual results in your interactive 3D scenes.
With most shader prototyping software, you can only test a single
shader on a single object in an isolated environment. Virtools Dev
3.0 makes it possible to edit on the fly in the "real life"
gaming context, for optimal tuning and final results.
