Responsive Workbench
The Responsive Workbench is an interactive virtual environment and workspace, giving user the ability to visualize and manipulate 3D objects. A desired scene is rendered onto the bottom of a plastic tabletop. Using polarized glasses, the viewer is able to view stereoscopic images of projected objects. A 6 Degree of Freedom (6DOF) tracking system tracks the location of the glasses, thus assuring that the viewer always sees the scene from the correct point of view. A 6DOF mouse and a virtual toolbox allow the user to select, translate, rotate, scale and change the transparency of objects in the virtual environment.
